MISSIONS

Being on mission is not only something we do at Riverbend Baptist Church it is a part of who we are.

It has accurately been said, “The light that shines farthest, shines brightest at home.” We take seriously the command of Jesus found in Acts 1:8 to be a witness of Christ in our Jerusalem, our Judea, our Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Jerusalem represents local mission opportunities, Judea represents regional mission opportunities, Samaria represents North American mission opportunities and the ends of the earth represent international mission opportunities. Whether it is across the street or around the world we desire to take the message of Christ to all people.

We are currently engaged in missions through our financial gifts to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and the Armstrong Easter Offering. Our financial gifts to these ministries allow us to support ten-thousand plus missionaries serving in North America and every other continent of the world.

Not only do we support missions through our giving we also support missions by going. Each year our church will send teams of missionaries all over this world sharing the love of Jesus Christ. In January of 2006 we launched our 20/20 Vision which will take us all over the world sharing the love of Jesus Christ. We currently partner with the following mission groups that help us accomplish the vision God has given us:

Rahabs Rope  North American Mission Board  International Mission Board  CornerStone  Net India  Word of Life  CO  Helping Hands  Ga Right to Life  Gainesville Care Center
