Pastor Mike Dorough

Mike Dorough is a native of Cordele, GA and a graduate of Crisp County High School. He graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens, where he was a member of the UGA Concert Band. In 1986, he was selected to participate in the Governor’s Intern Program and served in the State Capitol during the Georgia General Assembly. He received his Masters degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. After serving almost seven years as a Youth Pastor in Virginia, he returned to his home state and began serving as Student Pastor at Second Baptist Church, Warner Robins in 1996. He has also served as Staff Evangelist for one year. He has led mission trips to Russia, Germany, Poland, and Brazil, in addition to mission trips throughout the eastern United States. In November 2011, Mike co-led a Conference for pastors in Brazil with Dr. Jim Perdue. He has served as a Trustee and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Truett-McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia (

Pastor Mike has been married to his bride Julie, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, since 1988. Julie is employed by the Hall County Finance Department. They have two children. John Michael played on the baseball team of Truett-McConnell University before transferring to the University of North GA where he graduated in 2016 with a biology degree. He is employed by Tyson Foods and engaged to be married May 20, 2017. Holly Ann is a graduate of Covenant Christian Academy in Macon, GA where she enjoyed playing on the softball team and cheer-leading. She is now a business major at the University of North Georgia. The Dorough family loves the beach and UGA football, but most of all, they love serving Jesus together at Riverbend Baptist Church!
